Why Consider a Maybank Personal Loan?

A Maybank Personal Loan offers a convenient and flexible way to secure a cash advance without requiring a guarantor or collateral. It provides high financing limits and waives processing and document stamping fees.

If you need funds urgently, Maybank can process and approve your loan application swiftly—potentially within 48 hours, provided all necessary documents are submitted. Once approved, the loan amount is transferred directly into your Maybank Current or Savings Account.

Loan Amount and Tenure Options

You can borrow between RM5,000 and RM100,000, subject to a credit assessment based on your repayment ability, assets, and liabilities. The repayment tenure is flexible, ranging from 2 to 6 years.

Important Note: Once you apply for a Maybank Personal Loan, your application is treated as acceptance of the offer. For example, if you apply for RM50,000 but Maybank approves only RM25,000, you must accept the approved amount and cannot cancel the agreement.

Monthly Repayment Details

Your loan repayment starts the following month after the funds are disbursed. Monthly instalments can be paid through:

  • Online Banking
  • Cash or Cheque
  • Over-the-counter at Maybank branches
  • Telephone Banking
  • Standing Instructions

Early Settlement Policy

You can settle your loan early, but timing matters:

  • In the second half of your loan tenure: No penalties.
  • In the first half of your loan tenure: A penalty of RM200 or 3% of the loan amount (whichever is higher) applies.

Optional Loan Insurance

Maybank offers an optional insurance plan, the Personal Care Insurance Plan, to cover your outstanding loan balance in case of unforeseen circumstances during the loan tenure. While not mandatory, it is recommended for added peace of mind.

Required Documents for Application

Salaried Employees:

  • Copy of MyKad (front and back)
  • Latest salary slipEA form, or BE form (with official tax receipt)
  • Optional: Latest 3 months’ Current/Savings Account Statements

Self-employed Individuals:

  • Copy of MyKad (front and back)
  • Copy of Business Registration Certificate

Credit History and Eligibility

If you are blacklisted or have a poor credit history, Maybank assesses your credit standing via CCRIS and CTOS. These systems record your credit activity rather than blacklist borrowers.
To improve your chances of approval:

  • Regularize payments on existing debts.
  • Demonstrate good financial management.

By showing financial discipline, you increase the likelihood of Maybank approving your loan application.
